Description:

Beautifully woven nest only 2 inches long and very deep. Could be Red-Eyed Vireo or Warbling Vireo.

Habitat:

Beltzville State Park. Open woodlands, meadow near a large 7 mile long lake.

The most common is the red-eyed vireo. It is a drab little gray bird. I find these nests in all states of decay. They are really built to last. If you look at the 3 attachment areas you will see spider silk. :)

Thanks Gator!!! I have never seen this bird in my yard, but this nest was at a state park.
