Description:

This raptor is a truly majestic bird; it is an Latin American Icon that is on the Mexican flag. The Crested Caracara also known as the Mexican Eagle is a scavenger and a hunter and is a very opportunistic feeder. It will hunt on it's own but it will also scavenge on carrion if their is nothing fresh to eat. The Crested Caracara also has a pirating tactic which is to mob another bird to make it barf up its catch so the Caracara may feed if worse comes to worse. the Crested Caracara is real interesting and a marvelous bird of prey.

Habitat:

Coastal areas and the desert areas of South Texas and Mexico to South America.
