Field Notes

Description:

Lots of these along the old road through the jungle, partly because so much rubbish has been dumped along here since the new highway opened. Lorry loads of refuse are being illegally dumped all over the road ruining what had become a bird-watchers paradise. We saw no more birds along this section after we reached the rubbish tips. Further down the road is now being used as a training ground for learner drivers with scores of cars and motorbikes driving away all except the monkeys.

Habitat:

Tropical rainforest

Species ID Suggestions

long-tailed macaque

Macaca fascicularis
