Description:

medium-sized, with broad, rounded wings and medium-length tail; dark-and-white checkered wings, warm reddish breast, see black & white bars across the tail when in flight, long skinny yellow legs

Habitat:

urban city schoolyard

Notes:

sitting perched on power line then flew down to yard and caught some small rodent; undisturbed by people, dogs & cars close by
