Description:

An unidentified Costus sp. Costus Linnaeus 1753, is a group of perennial herbaceous plants in the family Costaceae, often characterized and distinguished from relatives such as Zingiber (true ginger) by their spiraling stems, hence the name Spiral Gingers.

Habitat:

Found in a hot spring resort area in Calamba, Laguna.

Distribution: They are native to tropical climates of Asia, Africa, Central America, and South America. Several species are frequently found in cultivation.
