Description:

I took this photo on a very early morning hike in the rainforest. The flower was more red than the photo shows because the flash washed it out. It was growing very low to the ground. I believe it is a passion flower but if someone can help with the exact species I'd very much appreciate it. Photo taken in Bergendal, Suriname.

Habitat:

Tropical rainforest, Guiana Shield, Suriname
