Description:

A large secretive rainforest bird, 78–100 cm (31–39 in) in length and 3.1–4.8 kg (6.8–10.6 lb) in weight, The male is black with a curly crest, a white belly, and a yellow knob on its bill.

The species is declining due to habitat loss and overhunting, but it still can be seen stealing across the forest floor or feeding in the upper levels of the tree canopy.

Habitat:

Humid tropical rainforest. Now mostly seen in National Parks and protected areas.
