Description:

This red wasp was eating something fro this cactus, may be some scale insects.

Habitat:

Semi desert.

Species ID Suggestions

Don't know which specific species... but it does look like a Polistes sp. (a Paper Wasp) I wonder if what it was doing might be chewing some of the cactus to make pulp for the nest as they will chew wood.
