I saw this spider on the side of the shed in a little web.

Jemma Just a guess - but this could be a black widow male. It is certainly a male (note the round pedipalps at the front of the head). These would be much smaller than the females. Check the web - if it is quite strong and irregular and kind of crackles when you run a stick through it - then it could be.
