Field Notes

Description:

Adult: Full-grown grasshoppers range from 19-38 mm. They differ in colors all over their body. The red legged grasshopper have a reddish-brown back, a yellow belly, and bright hind legs.
Egg: Grasshopper eggs are usually in pods and vary in color. The eggs could be these different colors- white, yellow, green, tan, or various shades.
Nymph: When newly hatched, nymphs are white. When they're exposed to the sun for a few hours they start to possess the colors and markings of adult grasshoppers.

Habitat:

Grasshoppers are found all over the world, so their habitat could be varied from most rain forests to hot deserts.

Notes:

This grasshopper was on the top of my car door.
