Field Notes

Description:

A brilliant blue largish swallowtail butterfly. There were several flying around along a path up Arunachala Mountain, but they only stopped very briefly to nectar at flowers, wings flapping fast all the time. Luckily these 2 were mud-puddling beside a small stream, and unknowingly posed for me !

Habitat:

Mud-puddling beside a stream running through thorn forest.
