Field Notes

Description:

I have posted the immature form and this is the older form, they look very different; this cap has reddish scaley appearance with wavy edges and a solid colored center dome - the younger form was a white chalky ball cap, about 10cm tall, can't see gills in the ball form but when first opens up they are white then pink and then turn reddish brown, no odor

Habitat:

several groups of these found on ground in leaf litter and woodchips where a large Oak tree was cut down
