Description:

Brown thorax and beautiful bright green abdomen.
Family Stratiomyidae (Soldier flies).

Notes:

Medium to large flies easily identified by flat abdomen and rounded or long third antennal segment. Many have bright or metallic colours and may be wasp-mimics.
