Field Notes

Description:

Papilionidae; Papilioninae; Troidini; Pachliopta kotzebuea tindongana Page & Treadaway, 1995. For several years, I had been hoping to see a Pink Rose and was pleased to have my first spotting just one week ago. On that occasion, I only managed to take two photos. Today, I had another opportunity and managed to take a few more pictures, albeit very high up and almost out of sight. I don't know if or when I will ever see one of these again. So, I felt that it was probably alright to upload another spotting so soon after my first one.

Habitat:

Spotted flying high and landing, only momentarily, on the upper foliage of trees in our front yard.
