Field Notes

Description:

Can reach 29 cm in length. This fish is white with a yellow top. It has 5 vertical stripes which are black (last pic). A faint sixth stripe might be present on the caudal peduncle. However, adult males adopt a bluish ground color when guarding eggs, as in this spotting (the eggs are the purple patch in the rock).

Habitat:

Buddy's Reef, Bonaire.
