I guess, if you grab one? I have been keeping pet mantids for a couple of years and biting is not a common thing if they are handled gently. It is only mechanical damage and doesn't hurt much as compared to the possible bites of other creatures. Please be gentle and respect the creatures. ♡♡♡
Wow.. she's BIG! I reckon she could inflict some damage to a finger if she felt so inclined...!!!! (And yes, I've been both grabbed AND bitten by praying mantises...and yes, it hurts! ;P
Beautiful adult female Tenodera sp. If she has orange on the ventral thorax between her forelegs, she is a Narrow wing mantis(T. angustipennis). If it is yello there, she is a Chinese mantis(T. aridifolia sinensis).
