Description:
A butterfly in the genus Chlosyne with distinctive colors and patterns. The adult's wingspan is 30–48 mm (1.2–1.9 in). Aka the Northern checkerspot.
Habitat:
Spotted sunning on a gravel road in the Wenas Wilderness Area of central Washington State.
