Field Notes

Description:

This was found on the side of a rotting log in northern Singapore. It has a rough texture, with more than a dozen "semicircles" growing around an elliptical area. Note the small grasshopper on the right side of the fungus. Note also the tiny bit of fungus poking out of the log in the bottom right corner.

Habitat:

This was found during a mostly dry part of the year, in a secondary rainforest on a sunny day in Singapore. It was given partial shade by medium-size trees above it.
