Field Notes

Description:

Peculiar Wasp nest made of thin fine mud and stuck to the side of a tree. As can be seen in the last picture, many of the cells are still capped. It has a complicated internal structure and seems to be the work of "communal" individually made cells, rather than a formal nest of a societal species.

Habitat:

Sumidero Canyon National Park, River Grijalva, Chiapas, Mexico.
