Field Notes
Notes:
I disturbed this large brown huntsman when I was sweeping outside our patio. I (and many other people) find these spiders really scary because they are so big and fast and LEGGY; however they are harmless. (Although they do seem to like dropping off walls/ceilings when you are walking underneath. Shudder.) This one is actually very beautiful. It's probably either Heteropoda jugulans or H. cervina - apparently they are almost impossible to tell apart without the aid of a microscope. Here are some links if anyone wants to try and figure it out!
