Field Notes

Description:

Spotted hiding under a rotting log. Walking on a trail in the tropical rainforest.

Notes:

These insects will cover their arms in tree resin in order to lure insects, mostly bees. Attracted to the resin, the assassin bug will then grab hold of it in a sticky embrace and pierce it with its proboscis, drinking the fluid until an empty husk of an insect remains.
