Field Notes

Description:

This stilt is widely distributed across the world to the extent several species are recognized by some experts. Their defining characteristic is, somewhat obviously, their extremely long legs. Their extremely long, thin beaks aid them with picking their diet of crustaceans and insects from the water.

Habitat:

They are most often found in shallow lakes, ponds, and marshes.

Notes:

Exactly what supspecies this individual belongs to I am not certain; clarification would be welcome.
