Field Notes

Description:

Unlike Spotted Orbweaver(Neoscona crucifera) they do not have a cross like pattern on back and instead a mirroring white dots pattern on back. Has no white cross shaped pattern on abdomen and a black spot on belly with four white dots in it (top two spots close to fur so sometimes look brown) instead of two unlike the Cross Orbweaver(Araneus diadematus).

Habitat:

Lives in the United States from Maine to Florida in the east, to Minnesota in the Midwest, to Arizona in the southwest, and in Mexico.
