It appears to me Comibaena connata is a better match than Uliocnemis partita because Uliocnemis partita has more angular wings than rounded.

You are right, Christiane, that Comibaena bajularia is indeed a European moth that does not range to Australia, though it has some similar species in Australia.

Looking at these links, I think this species is C. connata because of the light brown markings opposed to the dark brown markings.
