Field Notes

Description:

Medium sized diving duck. Males are mostly black with white neck, underside and secondary feathers. White roundish patch on cheek. Head is a greenish black and dark bill. Name comes from they yellow orange eyes.

Habitat:

This time of year they are some of they late migrators. Maybe found on the coast, bays and lakes. This one was found near the marsh in a channel.
