Field Notes

Description:

A well-camouflaged Masked female Jumping Spider found on bark and sandy soil at the base of the tree. Very playful. About 6 mm in length. Family Salticidae.

Habitat:

Bark and sandy soil, Barranca de Metlac, Fortin de Las Flores, Veracruz, Mexico.

Thank you rbumrbum, it sure does get around for something so small and wingless.
Crazy, I found the same species in California only with not as detailed markings. It does have a cosmopolitan distribution.
Beautiful little spider! Love the last pic...looks like it has turned around ready to head off because it's finished playing around :D Thank you for sharing :)
