Field Notes

Description:

A really dark chocolate brown black and very very shiny.
With a yellow underbelly.

Habitat:

This was found in the grass in our back yard.

Notes:

Didn't mind being held just sat there.quite content.

The range is restricted and does not match...I just took an off chance. Hope you get an ID soon
I’ve just looked that up but I don’t think it is as the yellow bellied three toed skink is found in a strip in the eastern Australia, where we are central and it said it feeds at night but I have seen these here in the day. But thanks for the suggestion all the same.
The yellow belly made me look up Saiphos equalis, commonly known as the yellow-bellied three-toed skink.

Good to see you back 2LTs. If not so far out of range i would have suggested McCoy's skink.
