Ashley you can find them in grass lands. Normally when flushed they pop up and immediately descend back to the ground and travel any which way to avoid you. I volunteer at LLELA and my tasks take me to an area where grassland restoration work is being done. I always have my camera with me. For some reason this guy stayed up enjoying the sun long enough to get a shot. Does this help?
