Field Notes

Description:

White belly. Black cap and bright yellow fleshy lappets above and in front of eyes. Legs are a similar shade of yellow. Sandy coloured back.

Habitat:

Open meadow area of a reserve forest in Madhya Pradesh, India.

Notes:

Photo taken from far away and from a jeep. Yet the bird was alert to our presence and kept scurrying away on those long legs.
