Field Notes

Description:

The flower size and shape is about that of pea but the colour almost violet.

Habitat:

The area is dotted with coconut trees and there are lots of under-growths. Sea leve, warm to hot.

Notes:

These pea-like flowers were spotted near an amusement park at Phuket, Thailand. I found the flowers very colourful and attractive and thought exotic, but my wife and other friends said they are already familiar with this flower. Name? Even they don't know!

Thank you, Sukanya. Happy New Year to you too! Yes, I've known some ladies with that name. Nice! And thanks also for the info.
Happy New Year, Doc....we call this flower Aparajita meaning the un-vanquished...(feminine usage)I love the name. Used for Durga puja.
