Field Notes

Description:

Blue Eyes is one of the biggest lacewings known with a wingspan of 110mm and large dark blue eyes. Wings are transparent with white tips and the body is narrow but broader near the tail. Antennae are black with orange tips.

Habitat:

Resting under a eucalyptus leaf in a local nature reserve.

Notes:

Range includes SEQ, NSW and Vic.
