Field Notes

Description:

Interesting little weevil about 8 mm in length. The pattern on the elytra looks 3 dimensional from a distance. The sides and legs are heavily scaled.

Habitat:

Sitting on a petroleum covered post. Finca Argovia near Nueva Alemania, about 2 hours NE of Tapachula, Ruta de Café, Chiapas, 850 meters.
