Description:

Campsomeriella collaris quadrifasciata Fabricius 1798 (Scoliidae : Scoliinae : Campsomerini). Scoliid wasps are generally parasites of beetle larvae, most often of Scarabaeidae.

Description of female C. collaris quadrifasciata: Vestiture white, fulvous or reddish on most of the head and thorax, and black on abdomen. Wings dark brown to black.

Distribution of this ssp: from Myanmar through Southeast Asia to North Sulawesi, and southern China. In 1931, cocoons of Campsomeriella collaris quadrifasciata were imported into Australia from the Philippines in an attempt at biological control of native cane grubs; the wasps failed to permanently establish in Australia.

Habitat:

Backyard at Biñan, Laguna.
