Looper Moth
Chrysodeixis sp.
15.4557, 119.92
Field Notes
Description:
Noctuidae; Plusiinae; Chrysodeixis sp. I am not sure about the common name of this moth. Noctuids are generally called Owlet Moths - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noctuidae. However, moths of the Genus Chrysodeixis have looper larvae. I would think that either Looper or Owlet is acceptable.
Habitat:
Spotted in a rice field, resting on a leaf, after a heavy shower of rain.
Notes:
I only managed one picture of this moth on this occasion (I think I have some later photos). The reason for including the uncropped photo is partly to show the habitat (a picture is often better than words), but also to show why, when the moth flew away, I could not go stomping through the rice crop for another picture.
