Field Notes

Description:

This insect was about 1.5 cm long and 1 cm wide. It was super small, and camouflaged really well among leaves and plants. It was completely black colored and would be easily mistaken for a piece of dead leaf or a tiny stick if it didn't move. The insect seemed to have only one pair of some sort of tiny pincers.

Habitat:

I found this insect in Singapore American School's rainforest, which is a secondary rainforest. This insect was crawling under a large green leaf. The temperature there was pretty sunny, but since it was under a leaf, I would say that it was pretty shady where it was. I spotted it at 12:49 pm.
