Paper Wasp

My wife disturbed this nest while doing some weeding and got stung. She asked me to remove the nest. I'm not a fan of using insecticides for this purpose. My technique is to knock down a nest with a long stick. The wasps go back to the location where the nest was. They put all of their attention on trying to find the nest and will totally ignore your presence. I put this nest in the back of my truck to take it home and feed it to my chickens. They love them. An hour later I went to take it out of my truck and this wasp had emerged. A bit of a sad story.
