Field Notes

Description:

This is an African Tulip Tree. It doesn't have any fruit. The flowers are orangish red and they are dry/ soft. The leaf shape is ovate. The dimensions are 11.5cm long and 6cm wide. The leaf margin is entire. The leaf venation is netted pinnate. The arrangement is subopposite. The texture of the leaves are leathery. The bark texture is thick and rough. The root system is buttresses. The seeds have plasticy feeling to it.

Habitat:

We found it in a patch of sunlight in the SAS rainforest.
