Field Notes

Description:

The Scaled Dove has greyish-brown upper parts, pinkish-grey face and breast, white throat, and white distal wing coverts that form a conspicuous white patch on the bird's closed wings. The dove is gets its "scaled" appearance from the dark edges of the birds feathers.

Habitat:

At the Beach of the Caribbean Sea, near Chuspa, Miranda, Venezuela.

Notes:

These little doves are mostly camouflaged and hard to spot when they are in the gras looking for seeds, but now I was lucky to see them on the branches together.
