Field Notes

Description:

This cactus has a round bulb shape (about the size of an apple) sections attached to each other. The bulbs have small spines clustered in small patches and scattered around the bulb.

Habitat:

Dry sandy dirt, open sun. It is located on flat land on the edge above Tecolote Canyon. Tecolote Canyon is located in San Diego, CA, and it is a small canyon filled with diverse organisms. From trees, to snakes, native and (non-native) vegetation, plants, flowers and other animals, it is a nice area for people to take a walk/run and look/learn about an ecosystem.

Notes:

Spotting by Tram and Meimei. (Week 1)
