Field Notes

Description:

The first pic is of a female and the second one shows the male. Very shy birds which makes it difficult to get clear pics. I was lucky to see them near the road. The adult male is unmistakable, with its brown head and breast with a broad white crescent over the eye. The rest of the plumage is grey, with loose grey scapular feathers It has a grey bill and legs.

Habitat:

Seen at a water body next to the road.
