Description:
Smaller than a yellowjacket, with distinctly spotted wings.
Habitat:
Female digging nest burrow in sandy soil in vacant urban lot adjacent to vast open field and riparian corridor.
Notes:
Identified as Hoplisoides nebulosus spilopterus by Dr. Matthias Buck. Members of this genus hunt treehoppers (Membracidae) as food for their offspring.
