Field Notes

Description:

Beautiful light brown frog. Has a wide dark brown stripe behind the eye, over the ear and down along the side. There is a narrower white stripe below the dark brown strip...sort of under the eye then down to the top of the front leg. There is a very narrow brown strip from the front of the eye to the front of the snout, going straight over the nostril. Several colours occur in this species: "Brown, green, white, red, yellow" (ALA).

Habitat:

Found sitting on the frond of a small palm along the bank of the Frankland River.

Notes:

Thank you Mark for identifying my little frog! Reference: http://frogs.org.au/frogs/species/Litoria/adelaidensis/

"The Slender Tree Frog is one of Australia's most distinctive tree frogs - it has no close relatives elsewhere in Australia and is found only in the south-west of Western Australia. It is probably an ancient survivor of wetter, earlier times in the history of the south-western environment." (Museum WA)
