Field Notes

Description:

This plant has large, broad green leaves that are approximately 10 cm wide and 20 cm long. It has a skinny, long trunk with many long intertwining branches. The tree was more than 2 meters tall. Its leaves' shape is oblong and the leaf margins are entire. The leaf venation of this plant is netted pinnate and its leaf arrangement is alternate.

Habitat:

I spotted this tree in Singapore American School's rainforest, which is a secondary rainforest. This tree was growing near the path and it seemed to be intertwined with another tree close by. The climate there was quite sunny, and since this tree is quite tall, it probably is pretty sunny at the top and maybe a little shady. I found it at 12:45 PM.
