Field Notes

Description:

Ant. Winged. Large. Black. Biting mouthparts!

Habitat:

My verandah. The orange thing is a carrot. The alate was crawling on the roof. I was finding it difficult to photograph it...although the first shot was good enough to be posted (turned upside down for better viewing). The just purchased carrot, freshly scrubbed with soap was right there and I used it to tempt it to climb down. It did and drank deeply for a long time so I could take a few shots.
