Description:

A SE Brazil endemic, the rare Three-toed Jacamar (Jacamaralcyon tridactyla) has its population declining over years remaining below 1000, placing this species as Vulnerable by Birdlife. Restricted to Atlantic Forest patches near water-courses, but can persist in degraded areas. Probably a cooperative breeder with records of small colonies in a single bank!
