Description:
A large plume moth of the Family Pterophoridae. About 1 cm long. The front and hind wings are tightly rolled together at rest and only a tiny peak of a feathery end is visible at the tip of the wings. The hind legs are held close to the body with the tarsi overlapping the abdomen. The tip of the abdomen is prolonged to look like a stinger.
Habitat:
Attracted to the garden lights, semi-urban area on the outskirts of San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
