Field Notes

Description:

These spider eggs were very tiny, about 1-2 mm in diameter. They were a brownish color and were oval shaped. There were many many of these eggs, probably more than 100. The eggs had a variety of shapes and sizes, but all were extremely tiny. The spiderweb they were in had no sort of pattern, but was pretty tangled.

Habitat:

I spotted these eggs in Singapore American School's rainforest, which is a secondary rainforest. These eggs were on a spiderweb, which was between two leaves of a plant. The climate there was sunny, but the area the eggs were in was quite shady.

Notes:

It is most likely that these eggs are dead, meaning that they are unable to hatch into spiders.
