Field Notes

Description:

A spotted species, bold black spots over mottled brown, all over the upperparts and wings; no bar across the wing-covert; underparts are paler and streaked specially over the breast. Sexes are alike. Seen early morning, early evening and at night. Day time one can spot them resting in the shade of a bushes or trees.
This photo was taken at Ndutu region, Tanzania.

Habitat:

Dry open, bushed and wooded grassland.
