Field Notes

Description:

Green with three parted leaves and flowers contained in a spadix that is covered by a hood.

Habitat:

It is native to eastern North America, occurring in moist woodlands and thickets. This was spotted along side a shale-type trail in a city park wooded area. The area is relatively moist ground; and is saturated in rainy season to lightly flooded.
