Field Notes

Description:

Small creme colored mushrooms, 5 to 7 mm in size. No other mushrooms near this site. The tree they are growing on is erect, but it is winter and the tree may be alive and dormant.

Habitat:

Heavily wooded area.

Mark, I have added a view of the underside. Thank both you and Jai for identification assistance, and is this then a Split Gill?
Hi glbnoah109 The name Jae has given is 99.9% certain in my opinion. If you have a shot of the underneath you would find gills radiating in pairs. It is a worldwide fungus with 30,000 sexes (also not a polypore)
